The Mediating Effects of the Adolescent`s Maladaptive Thoughts on Relationships between Perceived Parents Conflict and Depressive Symptoms

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of the adolescent’s maladaptive thoughts on the relationships between perceived parents conflict and depressive symptoms. The participants were 693 middle school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The results showed as follows: First, the Parents Conflict perceived by adolescent had a positive correlation with depressive symptoms. Second, the Parents Conflict perceived by adolescent had a positive correlation with maladaptive thoughts. Third, the maladaptive thoughts of adolescent had a positive correlation with depressive symptoms. Fourth, this study concluded that there was a significant partial mediation effect of maladaptive thoughts
